Space Maintenance

In cases when a baby tooth is lost too soon due to trauma or cavities, teeth beside it can drift into the empty space, causing loss of space for a permanent tooth to come in. After an early tooth loss, a custom-made space maintainer can be placed into a child’s mouth to prevent adjacent teeth from drifting into the empty space until the permanent tooth erupts into that space.
